Armistice, 1918 - Compiegne Forest Clearing

Standing guard at the approach to a clearing in the Compiègne forest, a French soldier anticipates the arrival of two trains.  Aboard one are members of a German delegation.  Aboard the other is the Allied Supreme Commander, Marshall of France Ferdniand Foch, and his entourage.

Foch is of the mind to dictate harsh terms of peace.  Germany is not in a position to negotiate.
