Armistice - Trains Approach to End WWI

Separate trains, carrying the Allied and German delegations, approach each other during November of 1918. At a secret place - now known as the Forest Clearing of the Armistice (Clairière de l’Armistice), near Compiègne - the Allies dictated their essentially non-negotiable terms to end the fighting of World War I.

It is estimated that about 40 million people - including soldiers and civilians - died during the war.
