Attila - The Feast of Attila

The primary evidence we have about Attila comes from Priscus, the historian who actually met the ruler and his family.  In 1870, using a story Priscus told about Attila and his dinner guests, Mór Than (a Hungarian painter) created this work - The Feast of Attila.  Priscus is included in the scene (pictured in white and holding his book).

The painting hangs in the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest.  Click on the image for a much larger view.
