Barack Obama - Whistle Stop Train TourEn route to his new job as America's 16th president, Abraham Lincoln took a whistle stop train tour from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. The country's 44th president - Barack Obama - followed Lincoln's lead during the weekend before his inauguration on the 20th of January, 2009. As you will hear in this video clip of the whistle-stop tour, the soon-to-be-sworn-in Obama gave speeches along the way. "To the children who hear the whistle of the train and dream of a better life - that's who we're fighting for. That's who needs change," the President-elect said at one stop. "And those are the stories that we will gather with us to Washington." CreditsVideo clip, courtesy Obama-Biden Transition Project web site (change.gov).
