World at War - On the Sea

The North Atlantic was the scene of ongoing naval battles during the Second World War.  One of the Allies' greatest worries was the U-boat, especially during the war's early years.

At a time before television, when people "saw" the news at their local theaters, cinematic newsreels (like this one) kept them informed of the war's events.
