Ben Franklin Notations on the Declaration Draft

By the time the Declaration of Independence was being drafted, Benjamin Franklin was an elderly man.  His experience in statesmanship, and living life in general, helped him to effectively edit one of America's founding documents.  He made changes to some of the Declaration's key phrases.
