Charles Dickens - 1842Charles Dickens, as he appeared in 1842, the year he traveled to America and met Laura Bridgman. Soon thereafter, he wrote his book - American Notes - which Helen Keller's mother read in 1886. It was the Bridgman story in that book, among other things, which caused the Kellers to seek help for their daughter. Click on the image for a better view.
