C.S. Lewis - Marries Joy Davidman GreshamAlthough C.S. Lewis had married Joy Davidman Gresham, in a civil ceremony, he had done so only to help his friend stay in Britain with her two young sons. In December of 1956, Jack asked Joy to marry him in a religious ceremony. He had fallen in love with her and wanted to declare his love before God and man.
