Emmett Till Described by His MotherEmmett Till was a fourteen-year-old boy from the South Side of Chicago when he took a train to Mississippi during August of 1955. Traveling with his cousin, he planned to spend time with his mother's family before the start of the next school year. In this clip, from "Emmett Till - The Untold Story," we meet Mamie Till-Mobley, Emmett's mother. She tells us about her son, and what he was like as a small boy. As a result of the work which Keith Beauchamp did on this documentary, the U.S. Justice Department opened a new investigation into the murder of Emmett Till.
