FDR - "Date Which Will Live in Infamy" Speech

On the 8th of December, 1941 - the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed - Americans received their up-to-date news from the radio.  People everywhere were tuned-in to hear their President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, address a joint session of Congress.  This audio clip is that address.

In his speech, declaring war against Japan, FDR referenced the Pearl Harbor attack as a "date which will live in infamy."

The memorable phrase was an after-thought.  His original manuscript referred to December 7th as a "date which will live in world history."
