Ferdinand Hiller

Ferdinand Hiller cut a strand of hair from Beethoven's head the day after Beethoven's death, on March 27,1827.  It was preserved in a locket which he later gave to his son, Paul HIller, on May 1, 1883 as a birthday gift.
