General Joseph P. Hoar

Joseph P. Hoar served in the U.S. Marine Corps, concluding his military career as a four-star-general.

He served as Commander-in-Chief of United States Central Command during the time of Operation Restore Hope.  Accordingly, he was in charge of ground forces for missions launched during that time frame.

General Hoar retired from the Corps on September 1, 1994 and has been critical of the Second Gulf (Iraq) War.
