George VI - Letter to Lionel LogueNot long before he died, King George VI wrote a thank-you letter to Lionel Logue. His friend and speech therapist had recently sent the monarch a birthday present. The letter - dated December 16, 1951 - was written less than two months before the King's death. It is addressed to "My Dear Logue," and the King signs-off with his own name - "Albert." Move the video forward - to 05:20 - to see the handwritten letter (which is part of the Logue family archives). The letter is featured in this "60-Minutes" piece which aired February 20, 2011.
