Hitler's Nurse - Erna FlegelErna Flegel - depicted here in 1933 and 2005 - served, for a time, as Hitler's nurse. Although she kept quiet about her role in the bunker - during Hitler's final days - she decided to talk with a Berlin newspaper (BZ) because she didn't "want to take my secret with me to the grave." Frau Flegel describes Hitler at the end of his life: By the end, he didn't trust anyone any more - not even the cyanide capsule he swallowed. She also describes the mood in the bunker as the Soviet Army drew closer: You could feel that the Third Reich was coming to an end. The radios stopped working and it was impossible to get information.
