Homer Mensch - Juilliard Teacher of Nathaniel AyersHomer Mensch was an extremely distinguished bassist and teacher. Playing with several famous orchestras, he also taught students at Juilliard (among other places). Although he was still alive in 2005, when Steve Lopez began writing articles about a "violin man" playing Beethoven on LA streets, Mr. Mensch died later that year. Fortunately, he was able to provide details about Mr. Ayers' days at Juilliard before his death on December 9, 2005.
