Howard Hughes - Comments on His Flights

In this video clip, which contains historical footage, Howard Hughes comments on his speed-breaking flights.  He set several world records before his FX-11crash in July of 1946.

Decades later, in 1972, Hughes agreed to secretly work with the U.S. government to recover a Soviet nuclear submarine which sank in the Pacific, near Hawaii.  The Hughes Glomar Explorer, a special salvage vessel, was developed and successfully raised the sub in 1974.  The recovery mission was dubbed "Project Jennifer."

When Howard Hughes died, in May of 1976, his estate was worth one billion dollars.
