Ivan the Terrible - Goes to a Monastery

This is Pskovo-Pechorsky Monastery, located about 18 km from Russia's border with Estonia. The first cave church here was built in 1473. Near the end of his life, Ivan Grozny (Ivan the Terrible) came to this Russian-Orthodox monastery, seeking absolution for his many crimes.
