Join the Tanks - Recruitment Poster for World War One
This recruitment poster advertised for "husky young Americans" to join the military. Those were the very types of people the Spanish Flu attacked - healthy, young adults. Today, one of the criterion for pandemic status is that a contagious illness attacks healthy young adults.
