Middle Ages - Knight's Armor

This illumination, from the Chronicles of Jean Froissart, illustrates the Jousts of Betanzos in which Renaud de Roye combats John Holland, an English knight.  John of Gaunt, the Duke of Lancaster (who plays a significant role in Shakespeare's play about Richard II) looks on with his wife.
