Lusitania - U-20 Patrols the North AtlanticAs Lusitania reached the southern part of the Irish Cannel, the British admiralty issued a warning that submarine activity in the area had successfully destroyed several ships. Captain Turner, in charge of the Lusitania, was ordered to change course and make for Queenstown instead of Liverpool. But changing course put the great ship closer to the lurking submarine. CreditsThis video clip is from the BBC’s recreation of the ship, and the story of her 1915 sinking, entitled Lusitania: Murder on the Atlantic. |
