Medieval Life Depicted in Froissart's Chronicles

The Chronicles of Froissart, by Jean Froissart, were sometimes lavishly illustrated.  The most famous miniatures were commissioned by a Flemish nobleman named Louis of Gruuthuse.

In the first half of the 1470s, Louis hired some of the best artists of his time to create illuminations to accompany the chronicles.  In all, 112 miniatures, in four volumes (referred to as BnF Fr 2643-6 by the National Library of France) make up The Froissart of Louis of Gruuthuse.

This is one of those images.
