Michelangelo - Creation of AdamWhen Michelangelo created this fresco, at the Sistine Chapel, people were not allowed to dissect a human body (to better understand how everything fits together). However, Michelangelo had help when he disregarded that rule. He had, in fact, personally studied human anatomy by means of dissection. This image depicts The Creation of Adam. Viewing the structure in which God appears, do we see ... the shape ... of ... a human brain? What was Michelangelo telling us here? Was he subtly conveying his knowledge of anatomy - or - was he just being clever in setting the scene?
