Mickey O'Keefe - Trainer of Micky WardMickey O'Keefe - a segeant on Lowell's police force - trained Micky Ward during the first part of his comeback career. A father figure to Ward, O'Keefe spent many months with the fighter as he worked hard to overcome prior injuries and time away from his sport. Ward describes O'Keefe as someone who always had Ward's best interests in mind. The officer-trainer plays himself in "The Fighter," a film about Micky Ward and his brother, Dickie (Dicky) Eklund. O'Keefe is seen here at Art Ramalho’s West End Gym, in Lowell, where he trained Ward for five years.
