Mrs. Kennedy Boards Air Force One - Alone

Mrs. Kennedy, a widow at thirty-four, walks up the stairs to Air Force One after the President's coffin was loaded on the plane. Ten weeks previously, she had lost her baby boy - Patrick Bouvier Kennedy - who died (on August 9th), just two days after his birth.
