Mrs. Kennedy's White House Tour

On Valentine's Day, 1962, Jackie hosted a television special called A Tour of the White House with Mrs. John F. Kennedy. After the program was aired in America, it was shown in more than fifty other countries.  At the time, it was estimated that hundreds of millions of people around the globe saw it, and Jackie was awarded an Emmy for her efforts.

The most widely viewed television special of the time, it was also the first prime-time documentary to target a femal audience.  This photo, in which Mrs. Kennedy is wearing a red suit, is from the special.
