Nathaniel Ayers - Double Bass Player

At the start of his musical career, Nathaniel Ayers played the largest stringed instrument in an orchestra - the double bass.  This is an example of that instrument and its sound.  Here, the soloist (Gisèle Blondeau) is playing Giovanni Bottesini's Concerto No. 2 in B Minor for Double Bass.

Blondeau, the first double bass player of the Philharmonie Südwestfalen (Germany), is making her debut with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Südwestfalen.  The conductor is Russell N. Harris.
