Navajo - The Long Walk, Part 5

Navajo oral history includes horrific stories about the people who were relocated to Bosque Rodondo.  When some could not keep up the walking pace, they were taken behind a rock and shot by the soldiers.  "There were many who died."

"The severe, cracked land seemed endless."  It was not the type of terrain conducive to farming and sheep herding.

Over 8,000 Navajo went on "The Long Walk."  It is estimated that about 2,500 people died.
