Returning the Body - Ajax Carries AchillesHoping to receive Achilles' armor, in exchange for his good deed of protecting and retrieving the body of his friend, Ajax returns the remains of Achilles to the Achaean camp. Ulysses (Odysseus), however, sees to it that Ajax does not get the coveted armor. When he fails in his quest, Ajax commits suicide.
