RFK - Bobby Kennedy Secretly Negotiates With Soviets

With a worried world waiting to see how Kennedy and Khrushchev would manage their way through the Cuban missile crisis, President Kennedy gives his brother, the attorney general, an important, secret job.  He would meet with the Soviet ambassador, Anatoly Dobrynin, to make an unexpected offer.

If the Soviets removed their missiles from Cuba, America would remove Jupiter missiles from Turkey.  But ... the American president would make good on such a deal only if the Soviets kept that part of the agreement absolutely quiet.

Move the video forward, to 4:38, to learn about the events which happened on the evening of October 27, 1962 and the Soviet’s response the following morning.
