Signing Surrender Documents - German High Command
This photo depicts the end of the war in Europe when German Field Marshall Wilhelm Keitel signed surrender documents on the 7th of May, 1945. Keitel, later convicted of war crimes, was hanged in Nuremberg on the 16th of October, 1946.
