Skelleftea - Meeting Place of Stieg Larsson's Parents

Stieg Larsson's parents - Erland and Evianne - met in the Swedish town of Skellefteå. This image depicts one of the coziest areas in the city - the Church Town known as "Bonnstan." It was built, between 1830 and 1840, by families who lived a distance away and needed a place - a temporary home, in other words - to spend the night.

Because the homes are made of wood - and are often referred to as "The Oldies" - they are at risk for fire. There have been times in the past when fires have destroyed some of the Oldies.
