Spanish Armada - A Dangerous Journey Home

When the wind changed direction, a very unfortunate event for the Spanish fleet, Medina-Sedonia had no choice but to order his men to return home.  Because ships then were not like ships today, the Armada was forced to return by rounding Scotland.

Spanish plans were to keep far away from the coast of Ireland.  How, then, were so many of their ships wrecked on the rocky, Irish shore?

By using Armada ship's logs, which still survive, experts have recreated the likely location of Spanish ships relative to the Irish shore.  It appears they were much closer than they'd planned to be.
