300 - Immortals, Members of the King's GuardThis image, depicting military men, is from a freize originally located at a royal palace in Susa (one of the Persian Empire's four capital cities). It is now maintained at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin. Scholars believe the freize depicts members of Xerxes' personal bodyguard (called the Immortals). Click on the image for a better view.
