Thomas ("Stonewall") JacksonGeneral Thomas J. ("Stonewall") Jackson was a much-loved Confederate general during the American Civil War. He was killed, by friendly fire, during the battle of Chancelorsville. Historians have written that the Confederacy never recovered from his loss.
