This political cartoon - published in the June 8, 1872 issue of Harper's Weekly - mocks the candidacy of Horace Greeley (a journalist) for President of the United States.  Is says, among other things:

All must be aware that the position of a JOURNALIST, who is at the same time a CANDIDATE, is at best IRKSOME and difficult.
