Trinity Detonation Site - Ground Zero Overhead

This picture is an aerial view of Trinity Crater twenty-four hours after the blast.  It was taken directly above "ground zero."  The dark circle depicts the area where soil actually melted (called trininite) from the bomb's intense heat.
