Edinburgh Castle where many important events occurred in Mary's life, including the birth of her son, James VI. Edinburgh Castle at night (during the time of "Castle Esplanade" held every August). Mary stood six feet; her shoe size was small for someone that tall. Mary's signature ("Marie R") which stands for Mary, Regina (Latin for queen) and her motto: "In my end is my beginning." During her 19 years of house arrest, Mary made many embroidered works. This is one on display at the Royal Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
