April 16, 2007.
The day started as any other,
Hustling and bustling along the halls
Of students rushing to class,
And as usual, everything settled.
As was normal, things got quiet
As lessons and lectures began.

But it got too quiet.
Something was in the air.
Out of the blue, screams could be heard,
and with a single gunshot,
All hell broke loose.

So many people lost their lives,
So many friends up and died.
All because one person got angry.
That person’s name was Cho.

Taking pride in what he did,
Thinking back on years of pain,
You can see it in his words,
You can hear it in his thoughts,
Of how proud he was of Columbine.

His escape was death,
I can hear his voice now,
Never understood,
Never cared for.

He said his heart was vandalized,
His soul raped,
And his conscience tortured,
But he never thought.
He never thought about the pain WE would feel,
How the pain would rape OUR hearts,
And OUR conscience would eat us to death,
Because we weren’t there to do something.

Because that’s what it feels like
To lose a loved one.
He can’t feel the pain anymore.
Lucky for him.
32 people died because of him.
He didn’t care.

Those who died will be remembered,
For the people they were
And for the things they did for others.
They won’t be forgotten.
In time though, Cho will.
There weren’t 32 people dead…
There were 33, including Cho.
He took his own life after the massacre.
But in time, his name won’t be remembered,
Because no one ever knew who he was,
No one knew HIM…
No one will remember, because
In time the anger will die,
And he will only be remembered as a killer…
The killer at Virginia Tech…
