At twenty years young I started my day

                with a smile,

I look forward to the things yet to learn.

In my German class where I shall sit awhile,

Never did I think this is where my life would adjourn.

There is so much I look forward to, a world I want to see.

So many more of God's creatures that still need my care.

No more days at the pool; a lifeguard I will

              no longer be.

I think of my family and pray God's grace be shared,

May they take comfort knowing I now study abroad.

In the most beautiful classroom, the classroom of God.

To my family I only want to say,

I love you deeply and don't ever forget to pray.
