Aerial View of Oahu American History Social Studies World War II Geography

In this aerial view of southeastern Oahu, we see Hawaiʻi Kai, Hanauma Bay and Koko Crater.  The photo was taken during September, 2004.

Oahu is the Hawaiian island (depicted on the linked map in red) which is home to Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, Hickam Field, Waikīkī, Diamond Head and about 75% of the state's population.  During World War II, Kahuku Army Air Base was located at the northern shore of Oahu.
