Amelia Earhart Intended Flight Plan

Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, planned to fly from Lea (Papua New Guinea) to Howland Island during the most-difficult leg of their 1937 round-the-world journey.

They did not make it to Howland Island.

This map depicts their intended destination as it relates, in distance, to the Mili Atoll (where some individuals believe they witnessed the crash of Earhart's plane).
