Ayatollah Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution

Ayatollah Khomeini, the leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, was no longer a young man when he returned from more than a decade of forced exile, in early 1979.  He had a vision in mind, for his country, which would not only change Iran.

Who was he?  Why did he want Iran to become an Islamic Republic?  How was he able to succeed?

This clip, from a BBC series entitled "Iran and the West," focuses on the Ayatollah:  "The Man Who Changed the World."
