Ben Steele - Survivor of Bataan Death March

Ben Steele - Survivor of Bataan Death March American History Biographies Famous Historical Events World War II Tragedies and Triumphs

This image depicts Ben Steele as a prisoner of war.  He illustrated what it was like to be on the Bataan Death March (and to endure horrific conditions thereafter).

Although not a trained artist at the time, Steele studied art after the war.  His drawings and paintings vividly recreate a dark time in history.

Living a long life, Steele tells us that one of the most-important things he has learned is how significant it is to forgive.
