Bernstein Explains Beethoven's Fifth - Part 2

It wasn't just television viewers who raved about Bernstein's explanation of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.  Music critics, and magazine writers, joined the chorus of people praising his work

When the series aired, Time Magazine said:

The gigantic struggle of Ludwig van Beethoven in composing his celebrated Fifth Symphony in 1805 was made ingeniously vivid last week on Omnibus...

Jay Nelson Tuck, author of an "On the Air" column for The New York Post, wrote:

... [Bernstein's presentation] was clear, concise and fascinating to a young man of nine as well as to his elders. I wish someone would give Bernstein a regular program of this kind.
