Canterbury Cathedral - Henry II and Thomas Becket

Canterbury Cathedral - Henry II and Thomas Becket Medieval Times Philosophy Visual Arts

Image of a photograph depicting the Henry II and Thomas Becket window at the Canterbury Cathedral.  This artistic work tells a famous story.

When the King was heard exclaiming, "Will no one rid me of this priest?!," members of his military thought Henry II wanted someone to kill Becket (who was then the Archbishop of Canterbury).  Those men carried-out what they believed were the King's wishes.  The window recreates that murder scene.
