Canterbury - Statue of Bertha, Woottons Green

Canterbury - Statue of Bertha, Woottons Green Geography Medieval Times Philosophy

Image of a photograph depicting a statue of Queen Bertha, Queen of Kent, located in Lady Wootton's gardens near the Canterbury Cathedral.

From aclerkofoxford's blog we learn:

In 2006, statues of Ethelbert and Bertha were installed here by the Canterbury Commemoration Society.

The idea is that the statues depict Ethelbert coming to greet Bertha and tell her of the arrival of Augustine and his monks, as she returns from worship at St Martin's Church.
