Castle Cottage - Where Beatrix Potter Lived and Died

Beatrix Potter bought Castle Farm, in the village of Near Sawrey, in 1905.

Her primary residence was at Castle Cottage, located at Castle Farm, between the years 1913-1943 (when she was married to William Heelis).

This image depicts Castle Cottage. It is the place where Beatrix died—of pneumonia and heart disease—on December 22, 1943. She was 77 years old at the time of her death.
