Chequers - Prime Minister's Retreat Geography Government World History

Chequers is a beautiful, pastoral estate which the British Prime Minister is entitled to use throughout his or her tenure in office. 

The home, and grounds, were a gift to the nation - in 1917 - by Arthur and Ruth Lee (also known as Lord and Lady Lee of Fareham).
