Cork Harbor - Titanic Arrives in Queenstown

Titanic Arrives in Queenstown at Cork harbor

Queenstown, Ireland - known today as Cobh - did not have docking facilities suitable for a ship of Titanic's size.  As a result, the great vessel had to be anchored inside Cork Harbor, where tenders ferried goods and passengers from ship to shore (and vice versa).

This photo - taken by Frank Browne (later known as Father Browne) - depicts the location where Titainic dropped her anchor in Cork Harbor.  It is known as Roche's Point.
