Court Clerk's Notation - Unable to Collect Anthony's Fine

In the case of the United States v Susan B. Anthony, a federal marshal was ordered to collect $204.41 from the Defendant Anthony to satisfy the judgment and court-costs of $204.41 levied against her. The judgment followed her conviction for unlawfully voting in the 1872 presidential election.

This document depicts the report of the U.S. Marshal who, though ordered “to seize property of the convicted defendant,” was unable to do so.
